1955, to add a new section to the Code of the Public Local Laws of
Cecil County of 1953, said Code being Article 8 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, and said new section to be known as Section
278A, and constituting an amendment to the municipal charter of the
body politic and corporate known as the Commissioners of Perryville,
Town of Perryville, said new section to authorize the Commissioners
of Perryville to annex and include the following described land in
the boundaries and taxable limits of the Town of Perryville.

WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 19(c) of Article 25A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition) at least 25% or more of the
registered voters in County elections who reside in the hereinafter de-
scribed area have petitioned the Commissioners of the Town of Perryville
to annex said area into the corporate boundaries of the Town of Perryville,
and

WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 19(c) of Article 25A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition) the owners of at least 25% or
more of the assessed valuation of the real property located in the herein-
after described area, have petitioned the Commissioners of the Town of
Perryville to annex said area into the corporate boundaries of the Town
of Perryville, and

WHEREAS, upon presentation of the petitions to the Commissioners
of Perryville, the presiding officer thereof caused to be made a verification
of the signatures thereon and ascertained that the persons signing the
petitions represented at least 25% or more of the registered voters residing
in the area to be annexed and who are, in fact, registered as voters in
County elections in the precinct in which the territory to be annexed is
located, and

WHEREAS, upon presentation of the petitions to the Commissioners
of Perryville, the presiding officer thereof caused to be made a verification
of the signatures thereon and ascertained that the persons signing the
petitions owned at least 25% or more of the assessed valuation of the real
property located in the area to be annexed, and

WHEREAS, the Commissioners of Perryville are desirous of annexing
the hereinafter described area into the corporate boundaries and taxable
limits of the Town of Perryville, this resolution is adopted.

Section 1. BE IT RESOLVED by the Commissioners of Perryville,
Town of Perryville, that a new section to be known as Section 278A of
the Code of the Public Local Laws of Cecil County of 1953, said Code being
Article 8 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (said new section
to be and constitute a part of the charter of the municipal corporation
known as the Commissioners of Perryville, Town of Perryville) be and
the same is hereby enacted to read as follows:

278A. The following described area is hereby annexed to and included
within the boundaries and taxable limits of the municipality known as the
Town of Perryville, viz.:

BEGINNING for the same at a point at the end of the eighteenth or
South 75 degrees 12 minutes 57 seconds East 280.58 foot line of the land
described in the conveyance from Joseph Coudon, M.D., to The Commis-
sioners of Perryville, thence binding on the nineteenth, twentieth and
twenty-first lines of the said conveyance and referring the courses of this
description to the Maryland State Grid True Meridian North 16 degrees
03 minutes 43 seconds West 2269.30 feet; thence North 09 degrees 56 min-
