2210 Municipal Charters
Section 1. The resolution to annex dated April 20, 1970, is hereby
enacted pursuant to the authority and procedures in Section 19 of Article
23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), as amended.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect on July 16, 1970.

Resolution of the Mayor and Council
of Hurlock To Amend the Town Charter
Resolution of the Mayor and Council of Hurlock adopted pur-
suant to the authority of Article 11-E of the Constitution of
Maryland Article 23-A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957
Edition), title "Corporations-Municipal", to amend Section 296,
Code of Public Local Laws of Dorchester County, (1961),
"Voters; qualifications" to provide that all inhabitants of said
town over eighteen years of age who have resided within said
town for six months and all citizens of the State of Maryland
over eighteen years of age who own for twelve months next
preceding an election land assessed for at least one thousand dol-
lars within the corporate limits of said town shall be entitled to
register and vote at any town election.
Section 1. Be It Resolved by the Mayor and Council of Hurlock
that Section 296 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Dorchester
County (1961), being the Charter of the Town of Hurlock, be, and
the same is hereby, repealed and reenacted with amendments to read
as follows:
296. Voters; qualifications.
All inhabitants of said town over the age of [twenty-one] eight-
een years who have resided within the corporate limits of Hurlock
six months immediately before the holding of any such election, and
all citizens of the State of Maryland over [twenty-one] eighteen
years of age who own for twelve months next preceding such election
lands assessed for at least one thousand dollars within said limits
shall be entitled to register and vote at any town election.
Section 2. And Be It Further Resolved by the Mayor and Council
of Hurlock that the date of adoption of this Resolution is September
28, 1971; and the Amendment of the Charter of the Mayor and
Council of Hurlock hereby enacted shall become effective on No-
vember 16, 1971, unless a proper petition for a referendum hereon
shall be filed as permitted by law, provided a complete and exact copy
of this Resolution shall be continuously posted at the Town Hall of
the Town of Hurlock until November 16, 1971 and provided further
that a copy of the title of this Resolution shall be published in the
"Dorchester News", a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of
Hurlock, or in any other newspaper of such general circulation, once
in each of the weeks of
