2096                               Municipal Charters

the inhabitants thereof shall from and after the enactment of this Reso-
lution be subject to the powers and jurisdiction of the Mayor and City
Council and shall be taken and considered as a part of the Municipal Cor-
poration of College Park, Maryland; that all of the provisions of the laws
of the State of Maryland applicable to the City of College Park now in
force or hereinafter enacted or any ordinance of the City of College Park
now in force or which may hereinafter be enacted and all existing and
future ordinances of the City of College Park shall be extended and made
applicable to the annexed area and to the persons residing therein and
the persons residing in the area and their property shall be subject to the
provisions of the Charter of the City of College Park, Maryland.

Section 5A. Annexation Description

Being land acquired by the University of Maryland by deed recorded
in Liber 1226 at Folio 457 and being more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at a point on the eastern line of a Pepco transmission right
of way, said point also being the end of the North 20° 24' 04" West
12.78 foot line as shown on a plat of subdivision entitled "Section 9, Col-
lege Park Woods", recorded in Plat Book WWW51 as Plat No. 43 and run-
ning thence with College Park Woods and along the existing boundary of
the City of College Park South 20° 24' 04" East 12.78 feet, thence South
28° 10' 50" East 991.59 feet, thence North 62° 04' 10" East 528.39 feet,
thence North 69° 42' 00" East 738.71 feet, thence North 89° 54' 22" East
274.53 feet, thence South 58° 07' 40" East 428.85 feet, thence South 20°
45' 57" West 658.96 feet, thence South 74° 47' 30" West 987.15 feet, thence
South 39° 29' 06" West 669.61 feet, thence leaving College Park Woods and
continuing with the boundary of the City of College Park and with the
southern lines of the aforesaid deed recorded in Liber 1226 at Folio 457,
westerly to the aforesaid eastern line of a Pepco transmission right of way,
thence leaving the existing boundary of the City of College Park and
running with the said eastern line of the Pepco transmission right of way,
northerly to the point of beginning.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the date of the adoption of this
Resolution is December 8, 1970 and that the Amendment to the Charter of
the City of College Park, hereby proposed by this enactment, shall be and
become effective on January 27, 1971 unless a proper petition for referen-
dum hereon shall be posted in the Town Office in accordance with law
and a copy of the title of this Resolution shall be published in a newspaper
of general circulation in the City of College Park not less than four (4)
times at weekly intervals before the 17th day of January, 1971.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that as soon as the Charter
Amendment hereby enacted shall become effective, either as herein pro-
vided or following a referendum, the Mayor of the City of College Park
shall send separately, by registered mail, to the Secretary of State of Mary-
land, to the Department of Legislative Reference, the following information
concerning the Charter Amendment:

1.   The complete text of this Resolution;

2.   The date of the referendum election, if any, held with respect
thereto;

3.   The number of votes cast for and against the question contained
in the Charter Amendment, whether by the Council of the City of College
Park or any referendum; and
