1896                             Joint Resolutions

Whereas, Many of the public landings in the State are creating
problems for the citizens having property in the immediate area,
and

Whereas, Many public landings have become a general nuisance to
many citizens in the outlying districts, and

Whereas, There is a question as to the sanitary facilities at many
of these public landings, and

Whereas, There is a great need for more parking facilities near
these public landings, and

Whereas, Landings may be built in areas which are not congested,
now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the Depart-
ment of Natural Resources study the problems connected with these
public access ramps, checking the sanitary facilities, the parking
problems, as well as the nuisance problems and to come up with
recommendations to the General Assembly at its next regular ses-
sion in 1973; and be it further

Resolved, That copies of this Resolution be sent to the Secretary
of the Department of Natural Resources, the Director of the Depart-
ment of Chesapeake Bay Affairs, the Governor, the President of the
Senate, and the Speaker of the House.

(House Joint Resolution 88)

House Joint Resolution requesting the Governor of Maryland to
proclaim September 23, 1972, "Hunting and Fishing Day" in the
State of Maryland, and requesting the Maryland delegation to the
United States Congress to support proposals to establish "National
Hunting and Fishing Day".

Whereas, The sports of hunting and fishing provide countless
hours of relaxation and enjoyment to many residents of Maryland;
and

Whereas, Hunting and fishing days were observed in twenty-three
of the United States in 1971; and

Whereas, President Nixon has been requested to proclaim
September 23, 1972, as National Hunting and Fishing Day in the
United States; and

Whereas, Representatives of a wide range of groups representing
conservation, youth, hunting, fishing, labor, education, environ-
mental, recreational, and business interests have expressed their
support of Hunting and Fishing Day; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the Governor
of Maryland proclaim September 23, 1972, "Hunting and Fishing
Day" in the State of Maryland; and be it further
