409L.

The following shall be considered as minimum evidence satisfactory
to the Board that the applicant is qualified for registration as a
Registered Professional Forester:

(1)    Graduation from a curriculum in forestry of four (4) years
or more in a school or college approved by the Board or accredited
by the Society of American Foresters, and a specific record of an
additional three (8) years or more experience in forestry work of a
character satisfactory to the Board and indicating the applicant is
competent to practice forestry, except that a Master's Degree may
be substituted for one (1) year's experience; or

(2)    Successfully passing a written or oral examination designed
to show the knowledge and skill approximating that obtained through
graduation from an accredited and approved four (4) year curricu-
lum in forestry and a specific record of six (6) years or more of
active practice in forestry work of a character that is satisfactory
to the Board; and indicating that the applicant is competent to prac-
tice forestry and to be placed in responsible charge of the work,
but after five (5) years from the date of enactment of this subhead-
ing, no person shall qualify as a Registered Professional Forester or
be granted a license to practice forestry by the Board, excepting that
person who shall have graduated from a curriculum in forestry of
four (4) years or more in a school or college approved by the Board
or accredited by the Society of American Foresters, and who has a
specific record of an additional two (2) years or more of experience
in forestry work of a character satisfactory to the Board, and indi-
cating that the applicant is competent to practice forestry.

(8) Any person who, on July 1, 1972, shall be engaged in the
active practice of professional forestry as defined in Section 409B
of this subheading, shall be eligible for registration as a Registered
Professional Forester, provided that he files an application for
registration with the Board by July 1, 1978, and he shall not be
subject to the other requirements of this section necessary for reg-
istration.

409M.

Application for registration shall be made on forms prescribed
and furnished by the Board; shall contain statements made under
oath, showing the applicant's education and a detailed summary of
his technical work, and shall contain not less than five (5) refer-
ences, of whom three or more shall be foresters having personal or
professional knowledge of his forestry experience.

The registration fee for a license as a Registered Professional
Forester shall be twenty-five dollars ($25.00), fifteen dollars ($15.00)
of which shall accompany the application, the balance to be paid
upon issuance of the license. Should the applicant fail or refuse to
remit the balance within thirty (30) days after being notified by
mail that the applicant has qualified, the applicant shall forfeit the
right to have a license so issued under that application, and the appli-
cant may be required to again submit an original application and
pay an original fee therefor. Should the Board deny the issuance
of a license to any applicant, the initial fee deposited shall be
retained by the Board as an application fee.
