the County Administrative Judge. Each such court stenographer or
reporter
shall be paid such expenses as may be approved by the
court payable by the County Treasurer or similar officer of the
county in the circuit court of which such services shall have been
rendered, as a part of the court's expenses, upon the presentation
of a certificate of the clerk or any of the judges of said courts
showing attendance and services of said reporter. [However, in
Calvert and St. Mary's Counties the court reporter or stenographer
shall be paid mileage at the rate of ten cents per mile for all neces-
sary travel between his home and the place of executing his duties
as such; and the court reporters or stenographers in Calvert and
St. Mary's Counties after having served at least two years in such
position shall be granted two weeks vacation with pay which
shall be computed from the weekly average of per diem compensa-
tion during the year.]

[(a-1) In addition to the provisions of subsection (a) above,
the Judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit resident in Calvert County
is authorized to appoint an official court reporter for the circuit
court for Calvert County at a salary to be fixed by the County Com-
missioners of Calvert County on the recommendation of the Resident
Judge of the County. The County Commissioners shall be responsible
for a sum equal to the full salary of the court reporter.]

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

CHAPTER 618
(House Bill 1357)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 40 (h)
of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Supple-
ment), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorney in Fact," subtitle
"State's Attorney," to make the State's Attorney's position in
Cecil County full time and to increase his salary thereof, and to
provide for two Assistant State's Attorneys and setting out sala-
ries therefor.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 40 (h) of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Supplement), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorney in Fact,"
subtitle "State's Attorney," be and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

40.

(h) In Cecil County, (1) the State's Attorney's salary is [twelve
thousand five hundred dollars ($12,500)] twenty-five thousand dol-
lars ($25,000) EIGHTEEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOL-
LARS ($18,500)
per annum [.] who shall serve full time. In addition
to the compensation provided for in this section, the State's Attorney,
