officer's resignation or removal for any reason from membership on
the Commission, the election to fill the unexpired portion of the chair-
man's or vice-chairman's term, as the case may be, shall be held
only after the Commission vacancy has been filled.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on July 1,1972.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 59-5 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (1963
Edition, as amended) and Section 70-9 of the Montgomery County
Code 41965, Edition as amended) being Articles 17 and 16 respec-
tively of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince
George's County" and "Montgomery County," subtitle "Park and
Planning Commission" to provide for an increase in compensation
to the Commissioners in Prince George's County AND MONTGOM-
ERY COUNTIES; TO PROVIDE FURTHER THAT THE
COUNTY COUNCIL FOR MONTGOMERY COUNTY MAY, IN
ITS DISCRETION, DESIGNATE THE CHAIRMAN OR VICE-
CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMISSION TO SERVE ON A FULL-
TIME BASIS; TO AUTHORIZE A SUPPLEMENTARY SAL-
ARY FOR SUCH MEMBER; AND GENERALLY RELATING
THERETO.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 59-5 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's
County (1963 Edition, as amended), and Section 70-9 of the Mont-
gomery County Code (1965 Edition, as amended), being Articles 17
and 16 respectively of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
"Prince George's County" and "Montgomery County," subtitle
"Park and Planning Commission" be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
59-5 (70-9).
In Prince George's County each EACH member of the commission
shall receive an annual salary of fifty-six hundred dollars ($5,600.00)
and the chairman shall receive sixty-one hundred dollars ($6,100.00).
In addition they shall be entitled to an annual expense allowance
of up to seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750.) provided a voucher
is submitted showing the said expenses. In Montgomery County,
each [Each] member of the commission shall receive an annual sal-
ary of forty-eight hundred dollars ($4,800.) [.] All salaries are to
be payable monthly from the administrative tax collected by the com-
mission. In the discretion of the governing body of Prince George's
County and the county executive of Montgomery County, with the
approval of the county council, a member of the commission from
each THAT county may be DESIGNATED TO SERVE ON A FULL-
TIME BASIS, AND THIS MEMBER MAY BE either the chairman
