(v) Within 20 feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station
or on the side of a street opposite the entrance to any fire station
within 75 feet of said entrance, when properly signposted;

(vi) At any place an official sign prohibits standing;

(vii) On the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked at
the edge or curb of a street; or

(viii) On a curve or the brow of a hill where solid lines indicating
a no-passing zone appear on the surface of the road.

(3) Park a vehicle, whether occupied or not, except temporarily
for the purpose of and while actually engaged in loading or unloading
merchandise or passengers:

(i) Within 50 feet of the nearest rail of a railroad crossing; or
(ii) At any place where an official sign prohibits parking.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

CHAPTER 530
(House Bill 598)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 37(a)
of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Local Li-
censes and License Provisions," to submit the amendment to local
referendum, to allow the sale of alcoholic beverages in Barnesville,
Montgomery County, subject to a referendum.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 37(a) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1968 Replacement Volume), title "Alcoholic Beverages," sub-
title "Local Licenses and License Provisions," be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

37.

(a) Where sale prohibited.—In Montgomery County, no license for
the sale of alcoholic beverages authorized by this article shall be issued
for any place of business located in any one of the following election
districts or towns of said county: Laytonsville (1st district), Clarks-
burg (2nd district), Darnestown (6th district), [Barnesville (11th
district),] and Damascus (12th district), and the towns of Kensington
and Takoma Park.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That before this Act becomes
effective it shall first be submitted to a referendum of the legally
qualified voters of the 11th election district, at the general election
to be held in November of 1972. There shall be printed on the ballots
