tion shall prescribe, with and on the advice of the State Superin-
tendent of Schools, the required items of information to be recorded
by the Board of School Commissioners of Baltimore City, the county
boards of education, school officials, and teachers, and shall require
all financial accounts, including the annual budget and all educa-
tional records, to be kept. Reports on such items of information to
the State Board of Education or the State Superintendent of Schools
shall be made using forms prescribed by the State Board of Educa-
tion, with and on the advice of the State Superintendent of Schools,
except that such items of information may be transmitted in auto-
matic data processing, machine-usable form upon the agreement of
the State Superintendent of Schools to such transmittals.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

CHAPTER 446
(Senate Bill 689)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, WITH AMENDMENTS, Section
204A of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971
Replacement Volume), title "Governor—Executive and Admin-
istrative Departments," subtitle "The Department of Public
Safety and Correctional Services"; and to repeal Sections 229
and 230 of said article and title of the Code, subtitle "Traffic Safety
Commission," and to repeal said subtitle; to abolish the Maryland
Traffic Safety Commission.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 204A of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume), title "Governor—Executive and Ad-
ministrative Departments," subtitle "The Department of Public
Safety and Correctional Services," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments; that Sections 229 and 230 of said
article and title of the Code, subtitle "Traffic Safety Commission,"
be and they are hereby repealed, and that said subtitle "Traffic
Safety Commission," be and it is hereby repealed; and all to read
as follows:

204A.

(a) The following departments, agencies, boards, commissions,
offices, divisions, and units of the State government shall be in-
cluded within the Department of Public Safety and Correctional
Services: the State Civil Defense and Emergency Planning Agency
established pursuant to Section 204D of this article, the Civil De-
fense Advisory Council, the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board,
the Division of Correction established pursuant to Section 204D of
this article, the Patuxent Institution, the Board of Patuxent Insti-
tution, the Advisory Board for Defective Delinquents, the Institu-
tional Board of Review, the State Fire Prevention Commission, the
office of State Fire Marshal, the Police Training Commission, the
