Board of County Commissioners sees fit. Each commissioner who
shall be appointed by the County Executive or from among the
members of the Board of County Commissioners shall serve at the
pleasure of the County Executive and the Board of County Com-
missioners, respectively. Commissioners who are not appointed from
the members of the Board of County Commissioners shall be ap-
pointed for a period and term of three years, provided, however,
that except for commissioners who have been appointed as of
March 15, 1966, and who are not members of the respective gov-
erning bodies, commissioners shall be appointed for a three-year
term and period by the respective governing bodies duly elected at
the 1966 general election. Members of the commission shall serve
until their successors have been appointed and qualified. The County
Executive and the Board of County Commissioners shall inform the
commission of their appointments to and removals from the com-
mission by delivering to the commission, a certified copy of the
resolution or other action making the appointment or causing the
removal.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

CHAPTER 445
(Senate Bill 688)

AN ACT to repeal Section 17 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume), title "Public Educa-
tion," subtitle "Chapter 2. State Board of Education," and to
enact new Section 17 in lieu thereof, to stand in place of the sec-
tion so repealed, to modify the procedure for local boards of
education to follow in recording and reporting certain required
information items ON EDUCATIONAL AND FISCAL MAT-
TERS to the State Board of Education or the State Superin-
tendent of Schools.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 17 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1969 Replacement Volume), title "Public Education," subtitle
"Chapter 2. State Board of Education," be and it is hereby RE-
PEALED, AND THAT NEW SECTION 17 BE AND IT IS HERE-
BY enacted in lieu thereof, to stand in place of the section repealed,
and to read as follows:

17.

[The State Board of Education shall prescribe, with and on the
advice of the State Superintendent of Schools, a uniform series of
forms for the use of the Board of School Commissioners of Balti-
more City, the county boards of education, school officials, and
teachers, and shall require all financial accounts, including the an-
nual budget and all educational records, to be kept and all reports
to be made according to these forms.] The State Board of Educa-
