PROVEMENT FUND. The contribution of the Waterways Improve-
ment Fund shall be limited to not more than fifty per centum (50%)
of the cost of each project. PROVIDED, HOWEVER, THAT CON-
STRUCTION PROJECTS BENEFICIAL TO THE BOATING
PUBLIC COSTING LESS THAN $25,000 MAY BE FINANCED
SOLELY BY THE WATERWAY IMPROVEMENT FUND RE-
GARDLESS OF LOCATION.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

CHAPTER 420
(House Bill 1212)

AN ACT to add new Section 219A to Article 66C of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Natural Re-
sources," subtitle "Birds, Game and Inland Water Fish," subhead-
ing "Game and Freshwater Fish," to follow immediately after
Section 219 thereof, providing for waiver of fees for fishing licenses
and stamps in the case of members of the armed forces of the
United States who are residents of Maryland while on leave in
Maryland PROVIDED THEIR LEAVE ORDERS ARE IN THEIR
POSSESSION.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 219A be and the same is hereby added to Article 66C
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume),
title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Birds, Game and Inland Water
Fish," subheading "Game and Freshwater Fish," to follow immedi-
ately after Section 219 thereof, and to read as follows:

219 A.

Any resident of Maryland serving in the armed forces of the United
States may, while on leave in Maryland, obtain any fishing license
or
stamp issued by this State without payment of fee, for use FISH
WITHOUT A LICENSE OR STAMP during Ms or her period of
leave, provided that a copy of his or her official leave order be filed
with the licensing agent from whom the license or stamp is obtained
and transmitted to the Fish and
Wildlife Administration in lieu of
the prescribed fee IS IN HIS OR HER POSSESSION WHILE
FISHING.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.
