full-time inspectors who meet the standards set out by the Prince
George's County merit board and who are certified by the personnel
director as meeting these standards shall be [eligible for appoint-
ment by the Board of County Commissioners and] entitled to the
provisions of the county merit system. The Board of [County]
License Commissioners for Prince George's County shall designate
annually a chief inspector from among the [three] six full-time
inspectors. The chief inspector, under the direction of the board of
license commissioners, shall regulate the duties, hours, and assign-
ments of the various inspectors.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 12G(b)
of Article 14B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Supple-
ment), title "State Boat Act," to provide that projects for con-
struction of marine facilities beneficial to the boating public
located within or serving any State-owned recreational facility
may be financed jointly by the Department of Forests and Parks
or other agency managing the facility WATERWAY IMPROVE-
MENT FUND FINANCING FOR CONSTRUCTION OF
MARINE FACILITIES WITHIN OTHER STATE-OWNED
RECREATIONAL FACILITIES AND PROVIDING THAT CON-
STRUCTION OF PROJECTS BENEFICIAL TO THE BOATING
PUBLIC COSTING LESS THAN $25,000 WILL BE FINANCED
SOLELY BY THE WATERWAY IMPROVEMENT FUND.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 12G(b) of Article 14B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1970 Supplement), title "State Boat Act," be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as fol-
lows:
12G.
(b) Projects for construction of marine facilities beneficial to
the boating public shall be financed jointly by the governing body
and the Waterways Improvement Fund; excepting only such projects
and facilities as are located within or serve directly State parks or
other State owned recreational facility, which may fee financed
managing the facility and the Waterways Improvement Fund HOW-
EVER, SUCH PROJECTS AND FACILITIES WHICH ARE
LOCATED WITHIN OTHER STATE-OWNED RECREATIONAL
FACILITIES MAY BE FINANCED JOINTLY BY THE AGENCY
MANAGING THE FACILITY AND THE WATERWAY IM-
