after Section 224 (u) thereof, to provide an additional cause for
the suspension or revocation of any license issued under the pro-
visions of this subtitle.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new subsection (v) be and it is hereby added to Section 224 of
Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Replacement
Volume), title "Licenses", subtitle "Real Estate Brokers," to follow
immediately after Section 224 (u) thereof and to read as follows:
224.
(v) Knowingly inducing or attempting to induce another person
to transfer an interest in real property LOCATED IN DEVEL-
OPED OR HIGH DENSITY AREAS AS DEFINED BY THE
COMMISSION, whether or not acting for monetary gain, or dis-
couraging another person from purchasing real property, by repre-
sentations regarding the existing or potential proximity of real
property owned, used, or occupied by persons of any particular race,
color, religion, or national origin, or representing that such THE
existing or potential proximity will or may result in: 1. The lower-
ing of property values; 2. A change in the racial, religious, or ethnic
character of the block, neighborhood or area in which the property
is located; 8. An increase in criminal or antisocial behavior in the
area; or 4. A decline in quality of the schools serving the area.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 1 (3)
of Article 73B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Re-
placement Volume), title "Pensions," subtitle "In General,"
amending the laws concerning definitions for the State Employ-
ees' Retirement System with particular reference to the defini-
tion of the term "employee".
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 1 (3) of Article 73B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Pensions," subtitle "In
General" be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

(3) "EMPLOYEE" shall mean any [regular] classified or un-
classified officer or employee of the State for whom compensation
is provided for by State appropriation, or whose compensation is
paid from State funds, including all [regular] employees of the
