[(c) The requirements for all places of registration shall be the
same as those for polling places.]

17-5.

[(d) When the election reports required by law have been duly
filed, the clerk of the court shall issue and deliver to each person
having the highest number of votes for the several county and city
offices a certificate of election.]

Sec. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

CHAPTER 353
(House Bill 1255)

AN ACT to repeal Section 22-2 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume), title "Election Code,"
subtitle "House of Representatives," and to enact new Sections
22-2 to 22-10, inclusive, in lieu thereof, to stand in the place
of the section repealed, establishing new Congressional Districts
in this State for the election of Representatives to the House
of Representatives of the Congress of the United States, and
relating generally to the boundaries of the Congressional Dis-
tricts in this State.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 22-2 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume), title "Election Code," subtitle "House
of Representatives," be and it is hereby repealed, and that new
Sections 22-2 to 22-10, inclusive, be and they are hereby enacted in
lieu thereof to stand in the place of the Section repealed, and all to
read as follows:

[22-2.

(a)    The State of Maryland is divided into eight districts for
the choosing of eight Representatives in the House of Representatives
of the Congress of the United States. The districts are numbered
respectively from one to eight, and each is entitled to choose one
Representative in the House of Representatives. The boundaries of
the various districts shall be as follows:

(b)    First congressional district.

(c)     Second congressional district.

(d)    Third congressional district.

(e)    Fourth congressional district.

(f)    Fifth congressional district.

(g)    Sixth congressional district,
(h) Seventh congressional district,
(i) Eighth congressional district.]
