of the geographic boundaries of the State with respect to all expendi-
tures of funds within the State of Maryland.

Sec. 3. Be it further enacted by the General Assembly, That
Sections 3-2 (a) and 3-2 (c) of Article 33 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume), title "Election Code,"
subtitle "Registration of Voters—General Provisions" be and they
are hereby repealed in their entirety and that new Section 3-2 (a),
to follow immediately after Section 3-1 thereof, and new Section
3-2 (c), to follow immediately after Section 3-2 (b) be and they
are hereby enacted in lieu thereof and to stand in their place, to
read as follows:

[(a) Registration days, hours and places.—Each board shall be
open for registration on the first and third Tuesday of each month,
except in Anne Arundel County where it shall be open on the first
and third Saturday of each month during the eight (8) weeks imme-
diately prior to the closing of the books of registration prior to each
primary election, and on such other days as each board may pre-
scribe except as otherwise provided. Each board shall prescribe the
hours and places of registration on days when it conducts the reg-
istration of voters.]

(a) Each board shall be open for registration on such days and
during such hours, as each board may prescribe provided that: any
board where there are less than ten thousand (10,000)
TWENTY
THOUSAND (20,000) registered voters in the county, shall be open
not less than two days per week; any board where there are more
than ten thousand (10,000)
TWENTY THOUSAND (20,000) but
not more than twenty thousand
FIFTY THOUSAND (50,000) reg-
istered voters in the county, shall be open not less than three days
per week; any board where there are more than twenty thousand
(20,000)
FIFTY THOUSAND (50,000) registered voters in the
county shall be open five days per week, all which days continuously
during the regular business hours for the county court house and the
county business offices.

[(c) The requirements for all places of registration shall be the
same as those for polling places as provided in Section 2-11 of this
article.]

(c) The location of places of registration shall be at sites which
meet the requirements of polling places as provided in Section 2-11
of this Article except that a local board, in its discretion, may deter-
mine that the selection of other sites is necessary in order to provide
greater opportunity to the public to register to vote.

Sec. 4. Be it further enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Sections 2-11 (c) and 17-5 (d) of Article 33 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume), title "Election
Code," subtitles "Election Boards and Employees" and "Board of
Canvassers" be and they are hereby repealed in their entirety:
