22-2.

The State of Maryland is divided into eight districts for the election
of eight Representatives to the House of Representatives of the Con-
gress of the United States. The districts are numbered respectively
from one to eight, and each is entitled to elect one Representative.
All references in this subtitle to election districts, wards, and pre-
cincts are to the geographical boundaries thereof as they existed on
March 8, 1971.

The first congressional district shall consist of the following coun-
ties in their entirety: Harford, Cecil, Kent, Queen Anne's, Caroline,
Talbot, Dorchester, Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, Calvert, Charles
and St. Mary's.

22-4.

       The second congressional district shall consist of the following

regions of Baltimore City and Baltimore County:
(a)
Baltimore City:

(1) Ward 9. Precincts 1, 2, 26, 29, 30 ad 31 of Ward 9;

(2) Ward 12. Precincts 1, 2, 3, 4, 21, 22, 23, 24 of Ward 12;

(3) Ward 27. Precincts 29, 30, 31, 32 and precincts 39 through
77, inclusive, of Ward 27.

(b) Baltimore County:

(1) Election districts 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 14 in their

entirety;

(2) All of election district 15 except that part which lies within

the United States Bureau of the Census 1970 tracts 4519, 4520,

(4521, 4522, 4522.99, 4523, 4524 and 4525, which is generally des-

scribed as that part of election district 15 lying south of the Pennsyl-
vania Railroad
Philadelphia Avenue line, east of Election District
12 of Baltimore County, north of the
Chesapeake Bay, and west of

Back River,. In case of conflict, the Census Bureau tracts shall pre-

vail.

THE SECOND CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT SHALL CON-
SIST OF THE FOLLOWING REGIONS OF BALTIMORE
COUNTY:

(A)    ELECTION DISTRICTS 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14, AND
15 IN THEIR ENTIRETY, AND ELECTION DISTRICTS 2 AND
4 EXCEPT FOR THOSE SECTIONS ADDED TO THE SIXTH
CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT.

(B)    THAT PART OF ELECTION DISTRICT 9 THAT LIES
OUTSIDE THE FOLLOWING BOUNDARIES: NORTHERLY
FROM THE BALTIMORE CITY LINE ON CHARLES STREET,
THENCE EASTERLY IN A CONTINUOUS LINE FOLLOWING
TOWSONTOWNE DRIVE, BURKE AVENUE, AND HILLEN
ROAD TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH GOUCHER BOULEVARD;
THENCE NORTHERLY ON GOUCHER BOULEVARD; THENCE
