(House Bill 21)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 1-1 (18) (c)
of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replace-
ment Volume and 1970 Supplement) (1971 REPLACEMENT
VOLUME) title "Election Code," subtitle "Definitions," to pro-
vide that Sundays or legal holidays shall not be included in the
computations of the time in which notice must be given or an
act performed if otherwise the notice would be given or the act
performed on a Sunday or legal holiday, and generally relating
to the election laws.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 1-1(18) (c) of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume and 1970 Supplement), (1971
REPLACEMENT VOLUME), title "Election Code," subtitle "Defini-
tions," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
33.
1-1(18) (c) In computing the times for notice to be given, or for
the performing OF any other act, under this article, Sunday shall be
included, except when the day on which notice should be given or an
act should be performed occurs on a Sunday or on a legal holiday,
in which case the notice shall be given or the act performed on the
next regular business day [Monday] following such Sunday or legal
holiday. In such computation the day of giving notice or performing
any act and the day of registration or election shall be excluded.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on July 1, 1971.

CHAPTER 272
(House Bill 22)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 3-17 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement
Volume and 1970 Supplement 1971 REPLACEMENT VOLUME),
title "Election Code," subtitle "Registration of Voters—How and
by Whom Conducted," to provide that voters registering in a
county or Baltimore City to which they have moved will have
to cancel their previous registration in the county or Baltimore
City from which they have removed, prior to registering in the
county or Baltimore City, a form to be used for such cancellation,
and generally relating to the election laws.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
