CHAPTER 246
(Senate Bill 562)

AN ACT to waive the provisions of Section 10 of Chapter 409 of the
Acts of 1969, this section relating to the time by which projects
contained in the General Construction Loan of 1969 must be placed
under contract, insofar as the provisions of this section relate to
the following items contained in the General Construction Loan
Act of 1969: Section 5 (O) (4) (a) Equipment for new Dining
Hall, Frostburg State College; Section 5 (O) (4) (b) Construction
of Parking Lot (400 cars), Frostburg State College; Section
5 (O) (6) (a) Site Improvement, Salisbury State College; Section
5 (O) (6) (b) To supplement the appropriation for "Acquisition of
Land (approximately 12 acres and improvements)," Salisbury
State College; and Section 5 (O) (7) (e) Renovation of Richmond
Hall, Towson State College; and to extend for two years the period
during which said items may be placed under contract.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the provisions of Section 10 of Chapter 409 of the Acts of 1969
be and they are hereby waived insofar as they impose a time limit for
placing under contract the following items contained in the General
Construction Loan Act of 1969: Section 5 (O) (4) (a) of Chapter
409 and found on page 1012 of the Laws of 1969, making available
the sum of forty-two thousand dollars ($42,000) for equipment for
the new dining hall at Frostburg State College; Section 5 (O) (4) (b)
of Chapter 409 and found on page 1012 of the Laws of 1969, making
available the sum of sixty thousand dollars ($60,000) for the con-
struction of a parking lot (400 cars) at Frostburg State College;
Section 5 (O) (6) (a) of Chapter 409 and found on page 1015 of the
Laws of 1969, making available the sum of fifteen thousand dollars
($15,000) for site improvement at Salisbury State College; Section
5 (O) (6) (b) of Chapter 409 and found on page 1015 of the Laws of
1969, making available the sum of sixty-nine thousand dollars
($69,000) to supplement the appropriation for "Acquisition of Land
(approximately 12 acres and improvements)" at Salisbury State
College; Section 5 (O) (7) (e) of Chapter 409 and found on page
1016 of the Laws of 1969, making available the sum of three hundred
and fifty thousand dollars ($350,000) for the renovation of Richmond
Hall at Towson State College. There shall be allowed an additional
period of two years, beginning on the effective date of this Act, for
placing- this project under contract. If this project shall not have
been placed under contract within a period of two years, beginning
on the effective date of this Act, then it shall be deemed to have
been abandoned and the other provisions of Section 10 of Chapter
409 of the Acts of 1969 shall be fully effective as to this project.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July JUNE 1, 1971.
