Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That subsection (f) of Section 5 of Article 38 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1970 Supplement), title "Fines and Forfeitures," be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
5.
(f) In Worcester County, in addition to the sum provided in
subsection (a) the County Commissioners shall appropriate and
pay to the clerk of the Circuit Court the sum of two thousand dollars
($2,000.00) and such additional sums as the Commissioners shall
determine for the support and maintenance of the court library
[, and said sum shall be taken from the funds received from fines
and costs levied and collected by the trial magistrates in said county].
This sum shall be expended under the direction of the judge of the
Circuit Court for Worcester County.
Sec 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

(House Bill 884)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 148
of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Birds, Game
and Inland Water Fish," subheading "Field Trials," increasing
the penalties for violations of certain game laws and exempting
certain acts from the penalty herein provided.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 148 of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1970 Replacement Volume), title "Natural Resources," subtitle
"Birds, Game and Inland Water Fish," subheading "Field Trials,"
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
148.
Any person violating any of the provisions of Section 132 to 147,
inclusive, unless a different penalty is otherwise provided in the
section, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction before
any court of competent jurisdiction of this State shall be fined not
less than [ten dollars ($10.00) or more than fifty dollars ($50.00)]
twenty dollars ($20.00) or more than one hundred dollars ($100.00)
and costs for each and every offense. Each and every game bird
and game animal caught or killed illegally, purchased or offered for
purchase, sold or offered for sale, barter, or exchange, or taken or
killed in excess of the bag limit or found in possession illegally con-
stitutes a separate offense under this section. The penalties herein
provided, however, shall not apply to the illegal hunting, pursuing,
