ing for seven day alcoholic beverage licenses in clubs in Worcester
County AND PROVIDING FOR HOURS OF SALE ON SUN-
DAY FOR CLUBS IN WORCESTER COUNTY.
Section 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new subsection 20(m-l-a) be and it is hereby added to Article
2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Supplement), title
"Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Beer, Wine and Liquor Licenses,"
to follow immediately after Section 20(m-l) thereof, and to read
as follows:
20.
(m-1-a) For the purpose of qualifying for a seven day license, clubs
defined in this section shall have an enclosed dining area that has
a seating capacity for sixty or more persons; serves full-course meals
from menus at least twice daily; and during the effective period of
the license has daily average receipts from the sale of food in excess
of those for the sale of alcoholic beverages. The annual fee for a
seven day license shall be $300.00. The hours of sale under these
licenses shall be as provided by the applicable provisions of Section
106 of this Article
SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT NEW SEC-
TION 106(E) BE AND IT IS HEREBY ADDED TO SAID
ARTICLE AND TITLE, SUBTITLE "HOURS AND DAYS FOR
SALE," TO FOLLOW IMMEDIATELY AFTER SECTION 106(D)
THEREOF, AND TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
106.
(D) CLUBS UNDER SECTION 20(m-l-a) WHICH QUALIFY
FOR A SEVEN DAY LICENSE SHALL BE PERMITTED TO
SERVE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES FOR CONSUMPTION ON
THE PREMISES ONLY AS A SUPPLEMENT TO A MEAL ON
SUNDAYS DURING THE HOURS OF 12:30 P.M. AND 10:00 P.M.
PREVAILING TIME.
Sec. 2 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby de-
clared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety and having been passed
by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the same
shall take effect from the date of its passage.
