Bill No. 70-70
An Ordinance to repeal and re-enact with amendments, Sections
1-223 (e) and 1-236 (a) of the Anne Arundel Code (1967 Edition and
Supplements), Title I, "Administration", Subtitle 2, "Personnel", Arti-
cle III, "Employees' Retirement Plan", correcting a technical error in
the law, and changing the amount of contributions to the Employees'
Retirement Plan respectively.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MARYLAND, That Sections 1-223 (e) and
1-236 (a) of the Anne Arundel County Code (1967 Edition and Supple-
ments), Title 1, "Administration", Subtitle 2, "Personnel", Article III,
"Employees' Retirement Plan", be, and they are hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
Section 1-223
(e) Any participant of this plan who becomes engaged in an occupa-
tion covered by the police and fire service retirement plan of the county
shall transfer his membership and credited service to the police and fire
service retirement plan. The personnel officer shall cause such participant's
contributions, with credited interest [and the county's contributions with
credited interest] to be transferred to the police and fire service retire-
ment plan.
Section 1-236
(a) The benefits to be provided under this plan to employees other than
retired employees shall be funded under a group annuity contract issued by
the insurance company. The assets under such insurance contract shall be
herein referred to as the pension fund and all contributions made hereunder
shall be paid to the pension fund. Each participant covered under the plan
shall contribute through payroll deductions an amount equal to five and one-
half per cent of his basic compensation received during each calendar year
or portion thereof while covered hereunder [;] , until June 30, 1970, and
four percent (4%) thereafter, provided a participant shall make no contri-
butions in any calendar year after the calendar year in which he completes
the number of years service required to qualify for the maximum pension
benefit as described in Section 1-224 (a).
Section 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Ordinance
shall take effect forty-five (45) days from the date it becomes law.

An Ordinance to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
35-136, Rule IX D, of Chapter 35 of the Anne Arundel County Code
(1957 Edition, Title "Zoning", Article VI, Subtitle, "Zoning Hearing
Officer", as enacted by Bill No. 4-65), authorizing the Zoning Hearing
Officer to impose additional restrictions, conditions or limitations upon
the classification or reclassification of zoning.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MARYLAND, That Section 35-136, Rule
IX D, of Chapter 35 of the Anne Arundel County Code (1957 Edition, Title
