porate limits of such city, village or town, the County is hereby authorized
to conclude arrangements with the municipality for such enforcement and
administration and for reimbursement to the County through the collection
of license fees as it may deem advisable. Division 3 of this Article shall
apply throughout the County.

Section 7. Section 76-18 of Chapter 76 of the Montgomery County Code
1965, titled "Animals and Fowl," is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

76-18. Injured or diseased dogs and cats generally.

The County is hereby authorized to enter into agreements with vet-
erinarians or animal hospitals in the County for the care of injured or
diseased dogs and cats, the owners of which are unknown, which are
collected by the Animal Control Authority, or by the County Police or
which are brought to the Animal Control Authority by private citizens.
If such animals are not in such critical condition as to warrant their
destruction immediately, the veterinarian or animal hospital to which they
are taken shall care for them until their condition warrants their return
to the Animal Control Authority for disposition in accordance with the
procedure prescribed by this Article.

Section 8. Section 76-24 of Chapter 76 of the Montgomery County Code
1965, titled "Animals and Fowl," is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

76-24. Same—Disposition of such dogs.

If the owner of the dog doing the damage be known, under the
provisions of the two preceding Sections, it shall be the duty of the County
to notify such owner to kill such dog immediately. If such dog not be
killed by the owner, after notice as aforesaid, the owner shall be liable to
the County, for the damages to the same extent as he would be liable in
case of negligence or malicious destruction of property, and the County
may in its discretion have the special officers or constables kill such a dog.

Section 9. Section 76-25 of Chapter 76 of the Montgomery County Code
1965, titled "Animals and Fowl," is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

76-25. Unlawful concealment.

It shall be unlawful for any person to conceal any dog or cat or falsely
to deny ownership of any dog or cat owned or harbored by him from any
official authorized by the County to enumerate such animals or to enforce
the provisions of this Article.

Section 10. Section 76-29 of Chapter 76 of the Montgomery County
Code 1965, titled "Animals and Fowl," is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

76-29. Issuance generally.

Licenses shall be issued under the supervision of the Animal Control
Authority at such places and at such times as may be designated by the
County Executive; provided, however, that the County Executive is hereby
authorized to permit the issuance of dog and kennel licenses for the next
ensuing license period on and after March 1 of any year.

Section 11. Section 76-30 of Chapter 76 of the Montgomery County
Code 1965, titled "Animals and Fowl," is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
