2-80. Established; director; bond.
There is hereby established a department of general services under
the immediate direction of a director of general services. The director
of general services shall furnish a bond to the director of finance in such
penalty as may now or hereafter be prescribed for the director of finance,
with surety to be approved by the county executive, conditioned that the
director of general services will furnish the director of finance through the
division of data processing, any and all necessary information and services
within the period or periods prescribed by law.
Section 19. Section 2-81, Chapter 2, title "Administration," of the
Montgomery County Code 1965, as amended, is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
2-81. Composition; functions.
The department of general services shall be composed of the following
divisions and shall have such functions and activities as may hereafter be
prescribed by law.
Section 20. Section 2-82, Chapter 2, title "Administration," of the
Montgomery County Code 1965, as amended, is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
2-82. Civil defense advisory board.
(a) Continued; composition, etc. The Montgomery County civil
defense advisory board is hereby continued and shall be composed of such
members as the county executive may appoint, subject to the confirmation
of the county council. The terms of members, including terms of members
now in office, shall commence on appointment and shall expire on the
following May 25 or as soon thereafter as their successors are appointed.
(b) Responsibilities and duties; officers, committees and bylaws.
Such board shall have the responsibilities and duties of assisting the
county executive in the civil defense effort. The board is authorized to
elect a chairman and other officers, to establish such committees of its
members or others and to adopt such bylaws for its organization and the
conduct of its affairs as it deems desirable.
Section 21. Section 2-85, Chapter 2, title "Administration," of the
Montgomery County Code 1965, as amended, is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
2-85. Assistance to boards.
The chief administrative officer is authorized to make available to
these advisory boards services and facilities of the county government to
aid the boards in their work.
Section 22. Section 2-94, Chapter 2, title "Administration," of the
Montgomery County Code 1965, as amended, is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
2-94. Employees, etc.
There may be appointed and assigned to the county board of appeals
such employees, and the chief administrative officer shall make available
to the board such services and facilities of the county, as are necessary
or appropriate for the proper performance of its duties, and the county
attorney shall serve as counsel to the board.
