2252                                County Local Laws

(88)    Corporal

Must have three (3) [two (2) ] years of police experience in County,
State or Federal government level, one (1) year of which is probationary
in the position of Patrolman.

(89)    Sergeant

Must have performed satisfactorily in grade of Corporal for at least
one (1) year prior to being eligible for this position.

(90)    Lieutenant

Must have remained in the grade of Sergeant for at least two (2)
years prior to being eligible. Must have an Associates Degree in Police or
Business Administration or: must have completed the F.B.I. National
Academy or one of the numerous specialized Police Administrator courses
given by several colleges as approved by the Chief of Police; or any
equivalent combination of education and experience.

(91)    [Janitress] Custodian

Preferably some building cleaning experience and sufficient educa-
tion to be able to read and write.

(92)    [Janitor] Senior Custodian

Preferably some building cleaning experience and sufficient education
to be able to read and write. [A driver's license might be required.]

(93)     Custodial Foreman

Completion of the eighth grade of school, five (5) years experience in
custodial work, preferably in school or public building; or any equivalent
combination of education and experience.

Section 2. And be it further enacted by the County Council of Howard
County, Maryland,
That this act shall take effect sixty (60) days after its
enactment.

This Bill, having been approved by the Executive and returned to the
Council, stands enacted on May 27, 1970.

Council Bill No. 19

An Act to enact new Sections 22.210, 22.211 and 22.212 of Title 22,
"General Provisions, Penalties and Rules of Interpretation," subtitle
"Conflict of Interest" of Howard County Code, to define and implement
Section 901 of the Howard County Charter relating to forfeiture of
office.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the County Council of Howard County,
Maryland,
That Sections 22.210, 22.211 and 22.212, be, and the same are
hereby added to Title 22 of the Howard County Code, "General Provisions,
Penalties, and Rules of Interpretation," "Conflicts of Interest" to read as
follows:
