1970, CHAPTER 497—Constitutional Convention
State Administrative Board of Election Laws
Annapolis, Maryland
Pursuant to the direction contained in Section 23-11 of Article 33,
of the Annotated Code of Maryland, the State Administrative Board
of Election Laws, does hereby certify, that at the General Election
held in the State of Maryland on November 3, 1970, an Act known as
Chapter 497 of the Acts of 1970, was submitted to the voters of the
State of Maryland pursuant to the provisions of Article XIV of the
Constitution of the State of Maryland, said Act being as follows:
AN ACT to provide for taking at the General Election to be held
in the year 1970 the sense of the voters of this State in regard to
calling a convention for altering the Constitution or for fram-
ing a new one, according to the provisions of Article XIV,
Section 2, of the Constitution of this State.
and it is hereby certified that at said election, 214,358 votes
were cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter 497 of the Acts of 1970,
and 277,212 votes were cast against the adoption of said Chapter 497
of the Acts of 1970, the said Act has therefore failed of ratification.

Done at the City of Annapolis, this 30th day of
November, in the Year of Our Lord, One Thousand,
Nine Hundred and Seventy.
