1970, CHAPTER 386—Charles County Board of Education
State Administrative Board of Election Laws
Annapolis, Maryland
Pursuant to the provisions contained in Section 23-11 of Article
33, of the Annotated Code of Maryland, the State Administrative
Board of Election Laws, does hereby certify, that at the Primary Elec-
tion held in the State of Maryland on September 15, 1970, an Act
known as Chapter 386 was submitted to the voters of Charles County
under the provisions of said Chapter 386 of the Acts of 1970, said Act
being as follows:
AN ACT to repeal Section 11 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume), title "Public Educa-
tion," subtitle "Chapter 2. Formation of Boards," and to repeal
Chapter 680 of the Acts of 1969, which most recently amended
this Section; and to add a new Section 35A to Article 77 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume), title
"Public Education," subtitle "Chapter 4. County Boards of
Education," to follow immediately after Section 35 thereof, re-
constituting the County Board of Education for Charles
County, making it an elective board, providing for the election,
tenure, duties, salary and operations of the Board; repealing
a law enacted in 1969 for this purpose, and submitting this Act
to a referendum of the qualified voters of Charles County.
and it is hereby certified that at said election, 2,275 votes were
cast for the adoption of said Chapter 386 and 1,872 votes were cast
against the adoption of said Chapter 386, the said Chapter 386 of the
Acts of 1970 has therefore been ratified by the qualified voters of
Charles County.
