743 of the Acts of 1965, as amended by Chapter 568 of the Acts of
1967, relating to the time by which projects contained in the
General Construction Loan Act of 1965 must be placed under
contract, insofar as the provisions of said section apply to item
5(C)(5) in said Loan Act of 1965, which provides certain monies
for the restoration of the Old Court House at Port Tobacco.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 5(2) (A) (5) of Chapter 101 of the Laws of Maryland OF
1970 be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:

(5) To supplement the appropriation for "Restoration of Old
Court House at Port Tobacco ...." as shown on page 1104 of the Acts
of 1965, Section 9 of Chapter 743 of the Acts of 1965 having been
waived by Chapter 568 of the Acts of 1967, to provide that the time
within which the capital improvements set forth in Section 5(C)
(5) of said Chapter 743 must be placed under contract be extended
for an additional period of two years from April 21, 1967; Section
[9] 8 of Chapter 743 of the Acts of 1965 being hereby modified to
the extent that said work may be undertaken upon satisfactory as-
surances to the Board of Public Works that said project can be
completed with the aggregate of funds herein and heretofore appro-
priated for that purpose $15,000.............................................. 45,000.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of Section 9
of Chapter 743 of the Acts of 1965, as amended by Chapter 568 of
the Acts of 1957 1967, be and they are hereby waived insofar as they
impose a time for placing under contract item (C) (5) of Section 5
of said Chapter 743, said item making available one hundred thousand
dollars ($100,000) as supplemented by an additional appropriation
of forty-five thousand dollars ($45,000) in item (2) (A) (5) of
Section 5 of Chapter 101 of the Acts of 1970, for the restoration of
the Old Court House at Port Tobacco. With the waiver of these
provisions so applied to this item, there shall be allowed an additional
period of two years, beginning on the effective date of this Act for
placing the restoration of the Old Court House at Port Tobacco under
contract, and after this additional two year period the provisions of
Section 9 of Chapter 743 of said Acts shall be fully effective and
applied to this item.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1971.
