at law of this State. He shall be appointed by the Commission and
serve at the pleasure of the Commission. He shall receive an annual
salary of [five thousand ($5,000.00) dollars] seven thousand five
hundred ($7,500.00) dollars.

(f) Taxicab driver license fees.—The Commission shall charge and
collect the following fees UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF SEC-
TIONS 50A THROUGH 50K, INCLUSIVE, OF THIS ARTICLE:
for the issuance of a taxicab driver license, $1.00; for the renewal
of a taxicab driver license, $1.00; for the issuance of a duplicate
taxicab driver license, $2.00.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

CHAPTER 467
(Senate Bill 551)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 47 (b) of
Article 78 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement
Volume), title "Public Service Commission Law," subtitle "Public
Service Companies," subheading "Carrier Companies," to extend
the time after which the cancellation or revocation of any re-
quired insurance policy or bond shall become effective.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 47 (b) of Article 78 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1969 Replacement Volume), title "Public Service Commis-
sion Law," subtitle "Public Service Companies," subheading "Car-
rier Companies," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
47.
(b) Cancellation and revocation: requiring new or additional
insurance or bond. No cancellation or revocation of any insurance
policy or bond required by subsection (a) of this section shall be
effective except after [five days] thirty days from the actual receipt
by the Commission of written notice from the revoking party. The
Commission may at any time require new or additional bond or
insurance as a condition of operation if in its judgment the existing
protection is inadequate in any respect.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.
