71. Acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be the Act and Deed of the Said William and Mary Clajon and the lott Houses and Premisses therein Specified to be the Right and Estate of the said John Shaw his heirs and Assigns according to the true intent and Meaning thereof Jn.o Brice Sept.r 16th 1763 Received of Doctor John Shaw one penny sterling for the use of the Lord Baltimore being the Alienation Fine on the within Lott of Land by virtue of a Comission from Edward Lloyd Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and receiver General Benj.a Beall Recorded the 16.th September 1763 7 s.d Ex.d This Indenture made the Seventeenth day of February in the third Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the grace of God of Great Brittain L S France and Ireland King Defender of the faith and so forth And in the Year of our Lord One VI Pence Thousand seven hundred and sixty three Between James Johnson late of the City of Glasgow in North Britain but now of London Merchant and Margaret his Wife of the one part and Walter Ewer and John Ewer of Lovelane London Merchants and Partners of the other part Whereas by Indentures of Lease and Release bearing date respectively the Eleventh and Twelfth day of March which was in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and fifty four and made or mentioned to be made between the said James Johnson of the one part and the said Walter Ewer and John Ewer of the other Part Reciting in the said Indentures of Release that the said James Johnson was Indebted to the Said Walter Ewer and John Ewer in the sum of Ten Thousand six hundred and four pounds advanced by them the said Walter Ewer and John Ewer to and for the said James Johnson at or before the Execution of the said Indenture of Release It is hereby Witnessed that for the Better Securing the Said Sum of Two thousand Six hundred and four pounds so due and owing by the said James Johnson to them the said Walter Ewer and John Ewer as aforesaid And in Consideration of five shillings to the said James Johnson did grant bargain Sell Remise Release Enfeoffe and Confirm unto the Said Walter Ewer and John Ewer and their Heirs All that undivided fourth Part or Share of him the said James Johnson (the whole into four parts to be divided) Of and in All those several Tracts or Parcels of Lands Hereditements and Premises situate lying and being in Baltimore County in the Province of Maryland in America formerly purchased by Alexander Lawson James Russell and James Wardrop of Maryland aforesaid Merchant And by the said James Johnson of and from Daniel Dulany late of Maryland aforesaid Merchant and of other persons there and then held by them the said Alexander Lawson James Russell |
