152. to the within mentioned John Caile as their Act and Deed Certified by John Black Hugh Hopewell Maryland S.t Marys County fs.t I hereby Certifie that John Black and Hugh Hopewell now are and have been for some Time Two of his Lordships Justices of the Peace for the County afd Lawfully Authorized & Assigned and to all Acknowledgments Probates Certificates &c by them so signed due Faith & Credit is and ought to be given in Justice Court and thereout L S In Testimony whereof the Public Seal of S.t Marys County Court is hereto Affixed this 9th day of June Anno Dom 1763 P Rich.d Ward Key Clk Recorded the 14th November 1763 18 1/2 s.d Ex.d This Indenture made this Fourteenth day of November Anno Domini Seventeen hundred and Sixty Three Between Charles Carroll of the City of Annapolis Esquire of the one part & Christian Hare of Lancaster County in the Province of Pennsylvania Farmer of the other Part Witnesseth that whereas John Digges deceased formerly Mortgaged To Charles Carroll a certain Tract of Land called Digges's Choice as by the Said Mortgage reference being thereunto had may appear And Whereas the said Christian Hare hath agreed with Edward Digges William Digges & Henry Daniel Digges Sons of John Digges deceased for the purchase of three hundred acres part of the said Land and Whereas the Sum of Two hundred & Twelf pounds Ten shilling Pennsilvana Money & One hundred forty five pounds three shillings & Nine Pence Maryland Currency hath been paid to Charles Carroll party to these presents Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Charles Carroll for & in Consideration of he sum of Two hundred & twelve pounds Ten shillings Pensilvania Money & One hundred forty five Pounds three shillings & Nine Pence Maryland Currency to him in hand paid the Receipt whereof |
