263) seales and dated this 22.d Day of November Anno Dom 1757 The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bounden Upton Scott whilst he shall continue in the Office of Receiver or Collector of the Land Tax in Ann Arundel County shall well and faithfully execute and perform the several Duties required of him to be performed by the Act of Assembly of this Province entituled an Act for granting a supply of forty thousand pounds for his Majestys Service and Striking thirty four thousand fifteen Pounds and Six Shillings therof in Bills of Credit and raising a Fund for Sinking the Same and do well and faithfully pay to the Commissioners of the Loan Office for the time being the several sums of money which he shall receive or be answerable for in Virtue of the same Act at such Times as by the said Act is directed According to the true Intent and Meaning thereof then the above Obligation to be void and of no Effect otherwise to remain in full force and Virtue sealed and delivered N Scott seal in the Presence of Geo Steuart seal John Raitt B Nicholson J Ross On the back of the aforegoing Bond was thus Written to wit Witnesses to the within Bond made Oath on the holy Evangels of Almighty God that they saw the Witness to the within Obligors within mentioned severally seal and deliver the same as their Act and Deed for the Uses therein mentioned Sworn before me the subscriber one of his Lordships the Lord Proprietary's Justices of the Provincial Court of Maryland 3 1/2 sides the Recorded April 11.th 1758 Jn.o Brice |
