260) This Examinant or Deponant Saith that she was Personately acquainted with M.r Ignatious Brook in Great Britain and Know'd the said Brook to be a Priest of the Church of Rome and that to the best of her Remembrance she has heard the said Brook Say Mass and the said Brook told this Deponant that he lived in Sheffeld and Exersized the function of a Priest in those parts This Deponant further Saith that she knew M.r Matthew Brook and that the said dyed in this Province and was Buried at Port Tobacco in Charles County as she was told by M.r Robert Brook and Sundry others but was not at his funeral and further Saith not Sworn to Before me Ann Darnall the Day above Edw.d Sprigg 2 sides Recorded at the Instance of Thomas Gantt Ex.d This is to Certify that Col.o W.m Goldsborough took the Several Oaths appointed by Act of Assembly to be taken to the Government & repeated the Test and subscribed ^the^ Oath of Abjuration & Test as Judge of the Court of Vice Admiralty of the Province of Maryland and at the same time did take the following Oath of Office to with You William Goldsborough do swear that you will ^well^ and truly execute the Office of Judge of the Court of Vice Admiralty of the Province of Maryland so long as you shall Continue in the same office According to the best of your Skill and Knowledge (so) |
