151) On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus indorst Viz.t On the 29.th day of August in the year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and fifty Seven Came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices The Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary his Justices of the Provincial Court the within named Richard Smith and Acknowledged the within Deed to be his Act and Deed for the uses and Purposes in the same mentioned and specified according to the form and Directions of the Act of Assembly in Such Case made & Provided And on the Same Day Came the within named Elizabeth Smith the wife of the Said Richard Smith before me and being by me Examined Privately out of the h^e^aring of her said Husband whether she doth make her Acknowledgment of the Same Willingly & freely and without being induced thereto by fears or threats of or ill usage by her said Husband or fear of his Displeasure and Acknowledge the Same to be her Act and Deed for the uses and Purposes therein Mentioned and Specified and Declared her said acknowledgment to be willingly and freely made and without her being induced thereto by fears or threats of or ill usage by her Husband or fear of his Displeasure which Said Acknowledgment taken as aforesaid According to the form and Directions of the Act of assembly in Such Case made and Provided I do hereby Certify J Hepburn On the 29.th day of August 1757 Then Received of the within named Hancock Lee the Sum of Ten Shillings Sterling being the Consideration Money within mentioned I say Reced P us the day and year above written Test R Smith J Hepburn Eliz.a Smith Recorded 14.th Sep.r 1757 sides 10 1/2 Ex.d Maryland fs.t Know all men by these Presents (that) |
