       At a Court held for King George County in the Colony of Virginia
       the 4.th Day of August 1757
                                       Then came Thomas Gray & Lawrence
       Butlerance made oath that they did see Jonathan Sydenham
       and Thomas Hodson duly execute this Power of Attorney to
       Jonathan Plowman Merchant and Acknowledge the Same
       to be their Act and Deed which was ordered to be Recorded
       and is truly Recorded

Ex.d          This Indenture made the Tenth Day of August in
       the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and fifty
       seven Between William Cromwell Senior of Ann Arundel County
       Planter of the one part and Nathan Hughes of Ann Arundel
       County Planter of the other part Witnesseth that the Said
       William Cromwell for and in Consideration of the Sum of Five
       Shillings Current Money to him in hand paid by the Said
       Nathan Hughes at or before the Sealing and Delivery of
       these Presents the Receit whereof he Doth her^e^by Acknowledge
       and the said Nathan Hughes his Executors Administrators
       and assigns doth there^o^fore Acquit and Discharge Hath granted
       bargained and Sold & by these Presents Doth grant bargain
       and Sell unto him the Said Nathan Hughes his Executors
       Administrators and assigns All that Tract or Parcel of Land
       Called Bear Neck Lying and being in Ann Arundel County
       aforesaid containing One hundred and forty Acres and the
       Revertion and Revertions Remainder and Remainders Rents
       Issues and Profits thereof and of every part and Parcel
       thereof To have and to hold the aforesaid Tract or Parcel of Land
       and Premisses with the appurtenances unto him the said Nathan
       Hughes his Executors Administrators and assigns from the
       Day next before the Day of the Date of these Presents until
