       State Adjust Ballance and settle any Account now depending and unsettled
       with any Person or Persons whomsoever And to Compound or agree for any
       Debt or Debts sum or sums of money which shall Appear to be due to me
       upon the Ballancing any such Account as he the said William Cox in his
       Discretion shall see meet and Generally to do Perform Transact and Execute
       all and every such matters and things as I myself might do if Personally
       Present And whatsoever my said Attorney shall ^lawfully^ do or Cause to be done in
       and about the Premisses by Virtue of these Presents I ^do^ hereby Ratify Allow and
       Confirm as fully and effectually to all Intents and Purposes whatsoever as if
       I myself were Present and did the same in my own Person In Witness
       whereof I the said John Hunt have hereunto set my hand and Seal the Fourth
       day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty five

       On the back of the foregoing Power of Attorney was thus Indorsed to Wit
       The seventh day of October in the year of our Lord 1755 Before me William
       Plumsted Esq.r Mayor of the City of Philadelphia in the Province of
       Pensylvania personally appeared Cadwalder Evans of the said City Practitioner
       in Physick and upon his solemn affirmation according to Law (being one of the
       People called Quakers) did affirm declare and say that he was personally present
       and did see the within named John Hunt Seal and as his Act and deed deliver the
       Within Instrument in Writing or Letter of Attorney and that the name of him this
       Affirmant thereunder subscribed as a Witness of the same is of his this affirmants own
proper hand Writing And that he did also see one John Richy subscribe his name thereunder
       as the other Witness of such Sealing and delivery
      
                                        In Testimony whereof I the said Mayor have hereunto set
       Seal                           my hand and Caused the Seal of the said City of Philadelphia
                                        to be Affixed the day and Year above Written
