573) 27 May 1755 Then Came Charles Browne before us two of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court and made oath that he saw the within Bounden Benedict Calvert George Steuart Charles Carroll and Ignatius Digges Esq.rs Execute the within Written Bond and also Came William Thomas being one of the People called Quakers and Solemnly and sincerely assumed that he saw the within mentioned Benedict Calvert George Steuart Charles Carroll and Ignatius Digges Esquires Execute the within mentioned ^written^ Bond Sworn before J Hepburne Rich.d Lloyd 27.th May 1755 You are hereby required Immediately to Record in the Provincial Land Records the within Bond together with the above Written Endorsment To the Clerk of the Provincial Court J Hepburn Rich.d Lloyd 6 sides Recorded May 27.th 1755 Ex.d Maryland fs.t Frederick Absolute Lord and Proprietary of the Provinces of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltimore C.t To George Steuart Esquire Greeting We reposing Especial Trust and Confidence in the Integrity Care and Circumspection of you the said George Steuart Do by Virtue of the Powers given in the Letters Patent from King Charles the first to Cecilius Baron of Baltimore his heirs and assigns of the Province of Maryland and by these presents Constitute and appoint you the said George Steuart Deputy Secretary of the said Province of Maryland with full Power and Authority to you the said George Steuart to Execute the said Office of Deputy Secretary and to do and perform all other Acts usually done by the former Deputy Secretarys of the Province af.d And We do hereby further impower you the said George Steuart to receive all Perquisites Fees and Advantages whatsoever to the said Office of Deputy Secretary belonging or in anywise appertaining in as full and ample manner as any person or Persons heretofore have held or enjoyed or ought to have hold and enjoy the same To have hold Exercise and enjoy the said office and to take and receive all such fees Perquisites and Advantages as af.d unto you the said George Steuart during Our Will and Pleasure Witness our trusty and Well beloved Horatio Sharpe Esquire Lieutenant General and Chief Governor of Our Said Province of Maryland this 20.th Day of May in the fifth Year of Our Dominion &.c Annoque Dom 1755 Horatio Sharpe J Ross Cl Cour The Great Seal in wax appendant |
