509) Elinor Wife of the said John Shivers who being privately Examined out of the hearing of her said Husband Acknowledged her right of Dower to the same Land to be the Right & Estate of the said John Olover his heirs and Assigns for Ever and that the same of her own free will and Vollintary Consent without being Compeld there to by any threats from the said Husband or for fear of his displeasure Taken and Acknowledged before me George Steuart Received of M.r Thomas Olover Four Shillings Sterling for his Lordships use (it being the Alienation fine on the within mentioned one hundred Acres Land) by Virtue of a Commission from Edward Lloyd ^Esq.r^ his said Lordships agent and Recever General 5 1/2 Recorded November the 12.th 1754 Rich.d Dorsey Ex.d This Indenture made this Fourteenth Day of October in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and fifty four Between Benjamin Tasker of the City of Annapolis Esquire of the one Part and Roger Boyce Corbin Lee Brian Philpot the Younger of Baltimore County Gentleman and Kinsey Johns of Ann Arundel County Gentleman of the other Part Whereas Joseph Nicholson of Chester Town in Kent County in the Province of Maryland Merchant and Hannah his Wife, Benjamin Nicholson of the Borough of Berwick upon Tweed in the Kingdom of Great Britain Brewer and Margaret his Wife and Samuel Nicholson of Stockton upon Tease in the County of Durham in the same Kingdom Doctor in Physick and Elizabeth his Wife by their Indentures of Lease and Release bearing Date respectively on the Eighth and Ninth Days of March which were in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and fifty did grant bargain sell release and confirm unto Samuel Ogle Esq by the Name of his Excellency Samuel Ogle Esquire Governor of the Province of Maryland and the aforesaid Benjamin Tasker All that Part of a Tract of Land called Nicholson's Manor lying in Baltimore County containing about Four Thousand two hundred Acres given and bequeathed by William Nicholson late of Ann Arundel County in the Province of Maryland Merchant deceased by his last Will in Writing bearing date on or about the Twenty fifth Day of September which was in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and nineteen to his Sons the said Benjamin Nicholson and Samuel Nicholson and to Edward Nicholson another of his Sons since deceased to be equally divided between them and their Heirs for Ever together with all Woods Woodlands and Underwoods being Parcel of or comprized within the said Four thousand two hundred Acres and all and singular other the Appurtenances of what Nature or Kind so ever to the said Part of the said Tract of Land and Premisses belonging or in any Wise appertaining or therewith now or at any Time heretofore held used letten or enjoyed or accepted reputed or taken or Part Parcel or Member thereof or as belonging thereunto and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder (and) |
