474) April the 3.d 1754 Rec.d the full Consideration Money in the within Deed expressed £0 5 0 P me Archibald Ritchie Witnesses her Levin Wilson Elizabeth + Ritchie William M.cCabe Jarvis Ballard Dowty Collier Joseph Nicholson April 3.d 1754 Reced two Shillings Sterling for an Alienation Fine on the within Land by Tho.s Gilliss Rec.r Recorded June 10.th 1754 18 Ex.d This Indenture made this 17.th Day of June in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred fifty and four Between Samuel Read of Frederick County Carpenter on the one Part and Charles Carroll of the City of Annapolis Merchant on the other Part Witnesseth that the said Samuel Read for and in Consideration of the Sum of Thirty six Pounds Ster to him in Hand paid by the said Charles Carroll Hath given granted bargained sold aliened released and confirmed and by these Presents Doth give grant bargain sell alien release and confirm unto him the said Charles Carroll All that Tract of Land called Baily's Purchase containing Twenty six Acres of Land as by the Patent thereof bearing Date the fifth Day of December 1748 may appear situate and being in Frederick County near Monocosy River To have and to hold the said Land called Bailey's Purchase together with all the Improvements and Appurtenances unto him the said Charles Carroll his Heirs and Assigns for ever to his and their proper use and behoof and to no other Use or Purpose whatsoever And the said Samuel Read doth Covenant and agree with him the said Charles Carroll that he the said Charles Carroll his Heirs and Assigns for ever shall and may peaceably have hold and enjoy the said Land called Baily's Purchase as well against him the said Samuel Read or any claiming by from or under him as against all Manner of Persons or Claims whatsoever In Witness whereof and the foregoing Premisses the said Parties to these Presents have interchangeably set their Hands and Seals the Day and Year first above written Sam.l Read Seal Sealed and Delivered in Presence of Geoo Chalmers Daniel Bennett On the back of the foregoing Deed was thus endorsed Viz.t June 17.th 1754 Then came before me one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court the within mentioned Samuel Read and acknowledged the Deed within and the Lands and Premisses therein mentioned to be the Right and Estate of Charles Carroll the Vendee his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the (Act) |
