471) Assembly entituled An Act for amending the Staple of Tobacco for preventing Frauds in his Majestys Customs and for Limitation of Officers Fees in the following Words Viz.t You William Webb do swear that you will not for Lucre or Malice delay any Person or Persons ^applying to you for any Business^ belonging to the Office you officiate in and that you will not directly or indirectly ask demand take or receive from or charge to any such Person or Persons to your own use (except your Salary from your Principal) any Fee or reward whatsoever for any Service you shall do as Clerk of the said Office and also that in making out the Office Fees you will not wittingly or willingly charge other or higher Fees than limitted by the Act entituled An Act for amending the Staple of Tobacco for preventing Frauds in his Majestys Customs and for the Limitation of Officers Fees Sworn to the 5.th day of April 1754 before me Geo Steuart 2 sides Recorded May 29.th 1754 Ex.d This Indenture Tripartite made the third Day of April in the third Year of the Dominion of the Right Honourable Frederick Absolute Lord and Proprietary of the Provinces of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltimore &c.a and in the Year of our Lord God One Thousand seven hundred fifty and four Between Archibald Ritchie of Somerset County in the Province of Maryland Planter and Elizabeth his Wife formerly the Wife of one Henry Macabe of the County afd and one of the Daughters of and a certain Thomas Larramore of the same Place now deceased and William Macabe Eldest Son and Heir apparent of the said Elizabeth by the said Henry Macabe of the first Part Daughty Collier of the County of Somerset in the said Province of Maryland Planter of the second Part and Joseph Nicholson of the same Place Planter of the third Part Witnesseth that the said Archibald Ritchie and Elizabeth his Wife and the said William Macabe for the Docking Barring and Cutting off all Estates Tail and Remainders in Tail of and in the Messuages Tenements Lands and Hereditaments herein after mentioned and for the setling and assuring the same to and for the Uses Intents and Purposes herein after limitted expressed and declared and in Consideration of Five Shillings to them in Hand paid by the said Doughty Collier the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and for divers other good Causes and Considerations them the said Archibald Ritchie and Elizabeth his Wife and the said William Macabe in this behalf moving Have and every of them Hath granted bargained and sold released and confirmed and by these Presents Do and every of them Doth grant bargain and sell release and confirm unto the said Doughty Collier and to his Heirs and Assigns for ever All that Dividend or Parcel of Land Part of a Tract of Land called Mount Hope situate lying and being on the East side of Chesepeak Bay and on Nanticoke River in the said County of Somerset containing by estimation Forty Acres ^be the same^ more or less And also Ten Acres of Land Part of a Tract of Land called Turnstile lying and being in the County aforesaid which said Two Parcels of Land (were) |
