389) Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and fifty three Sealed and Delivered (being first Cæcil.s Calvert Seal duly Stampt) in the Presence of Harman Verelst William Johnson Entered in the Office of the Honourable Cecilius Calvert Esq Secretary of the Province of Maryland in America Residing in England Harman Verelst Assistant London Harman Verelst of Saint Margarets Westminster in the County of Middlesex Esq maketh Oath That he this Deponent was present and did see the Honourable Cecilius Calvert Esq Sign Seal and as his Act and Deed in due form of Law Execute and Deliver the Deed Poll or paper writing hereunto annexed (purporting to be a Deputation from the said Cecilius Calvert Esq to Edmond Jenings of the Province of Maryland Esq) to and for the Uses Intents and Purposes therein mentioned, and that he this Deponent and William Johnson the who was also present at the Execution of the said Deed Poll are Subscribing Witnesses to the same Harman Verelst Sworn at my Mansion House the 18.th April 1753 before me Crisp Gascoyne Mayor To all to whom these Presents shall come I Sir Crisp Gascoyne Knight Lord Mayor of the City of London, In Pursuance of an Act of Parliament made and passed in the fifth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord King George the Second Intituled An Act for the more easy recovery of Debts in his Majestys Plantations and Colonies in America Do hereby Certify that on the day of the Date hereof Personally came and appeared before me Harman Verelst the Deponent Named in the Affidavit hereunto Annexed being a Person well known and worthy of good Credit and by Solemn Oath which the said Deponent then took before me upon the holy Evangelists of Almighty God Did Solemnly and Sincerely declare Testify and Depose to be True the several matters & things mentioned and contained in the said Affidavit annexed In Faith and Testimony whereof I the said Lord Mayor have Seal Caused the Seal of the Office of Mayoralty of the said City of London to be hereunto put and Affixed and the Deed Poll mentioned and referred to in and by the said Affidavit to be hereunto also annexed Dated in London the eighteenth day of April in the Year of our Lord 1753 Mary Maryland fs.t I hereby Certify That on this fourteenth Day of August Seventeen hundred and fifty three Came (before) |
