319) Craft Containing five hundred Acres Granted unto Michael Taylor as also all the part clear of Antientor Surveys of a Tract of Land called Rough Stone being Two hundred and twelve Acres Granted unto the said Taylor and both Conveyed unto the said Charles Carroll, Esq.r and ^Doctor^ Charles Carroll by the said Taylor as by the said Assignment relation ^thereunto^ being had more at large may appear Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Samuel Webb for and in Consideration of the Sum of Ninety one Pounds Sterling Money of Great Britain to him in hand paid and satisfied at and before the Ensealing and Delivery of these Presents by the said Charles Carroll Merchant the Receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge Hath Given Granted Bargained Sold Enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these Presents Doth Give Grant Bargain Sell Enfeoff and Confirm unto him the said Charles Carroll his Heirs and Assigns forever All that Tract of Land called Spittle Craft Containing five hundred Acres as also all that part of the said Tract of Land called Rough Stone which lies clear of Elder Surveys by Computation Two hundred and twelve acres together with all the Buildings Fencings Improvements and Appurtenances thereon & thereto belonging and appertaining To have and to hold the said Tract of Land called Spittle Craft and also all the part of the Tract of Land called Rough Stone so cleared as aforesaid with their and every of their Appurtenances unto him the said Charles Carroll Merchant his Heirs and Assigns for ever to ^his^ and their proper Use and Behoof and to and for no other Use Intent or meaning whatsoever Provided always Nevertheless and the true Intent & meaning of these Presents is that in Case the said Samuel Webb his Executors Administrators or Assigns do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto him the said Charles Carroll Merchant his Executors Administrators or Assigns at his Dwelling House in Annapolis aforesaid at or upon the third day of April which ^will^ shall be in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and fifty three the full and just Sum of Ninety one Pounds Sterling Money of Great Britain with the legal Interest for the same that then and in such Case these Presents and every thing herein contained shall Cease Determine and be utterly Void any thing herein contained to the contrary thereof notwithstanding In Witness whereof and the foregoing Premisses the said Parties to these Presents have hereunto Interchangeably set their hands and Seals the day and Year first above written Samuel Seal Webb On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed Viz.t Sealed and Delivered in ^the^ Presence of Us W.m Webb Arthur Charlton 1752 Received the Day and Year first within Written of the within named Charles £ Carroll Merchant the Sum of Ninety one Pounds Sterling Money of Great 91 Britain being the Consideration Money within mentioned to be paid by him to me I say received by me Attested by W.m Webb Arthur Charlton Sam.l Webb 1752 Oct.r 6.th 1752 Then Came before me Robert Gordon Esq.r one of the Justices of the Provincial Court the within mentioned Samuel Webb and Acknowledged the within Deed and the Lands and Premisses therein mentioned to be the Right and Estate of Charles Carroll Merchant his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the Act in that Case made & 6 1/2 Provided Robert Gordon Recorded Oct.r 6.th 1752 Ex.d This Indenture made the Sixth day of October in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and fifty two Between James Gilleland of Frederick County Farmer of the one part and Charles Carroll of the City of Annapolis Merchant of the (other) |
