19) Attorney from the said Benjamin Nicholson to his Brother in Law William Temple of the Borough of Berwick upon Tweed and Kingdom of Great Britain afs.d Esquire therein named to and for the uses intents and purposes therein mentioned And that Luke Currie was also Present at the Execution of the said Letter of Attorney by the said Benjamin Nicholson and did see the same duly Executed as afs.d And that the Names Luke Currie and James Todd set and Subscribed as Witnesses to the Execution thereof by the said Benjamin Nicholson are of the proper Hand Writing of the said Luke Currie and of this Deponent Respectively James Todd To all to whom these Presents shall come I Joseph Watson Esq.r Mayor of the Borough of Berwick upon Tweed in the Kingdom of Great Britain in Pursuance of an Act of Parliament made and Passed in the fifth Year of the Reign of his Present Majesty King George the Second intitled an Act for the more Easy Recovery of Debts in his Majestys Plantations and Colonies in America do hereby Certifie that on the day of the date ^here^of Personally came and appeared before me James Todd of Berwick afs.d Gentleman being a Person well known and worthy of good Credit and by Solemn Oath which he then took before me upon the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God did Solemnly and Sincerely declare Testifie and depose to be true the several matters and things mentioned and Contained in the Original Affidavit above written In Faith and Testimony whereof I the said Mayor have caused the Seal of the said Borough and Corporation to be hereunto put and Affixed and the Letter of Attorney mentioned and Referred to in and by the said Affidavit to be hereunto also annexed dated at Berwick upon Tweed afs.d the thirteenth day of June in the Year 19 1/2 of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and forty nine Recorded November the 8.th 1749 Jo Watson Mayor Seal Ex.d This Indenture made this Eighth Day of November in the Year of our Lord God One Thousand seven Hundred and forty nine Between Thomas Collins of Ann Arundell County in the Province of Maryland Carpenter of the one Part and Andrew Tannehill of Frederick County and Province afs.d Planter of the other Part Witnesseth that the said Thomas Collings for and in Consideration of the Sum of Sixty Pounds Current Money of the Province of Maryland to him in hand paid by the said Andrew Tennehill before the Sealing and delivery of these Presents whereof the said Thomas Collings doth hereby acknowledge him to be therewith fully Satisfied Contented and paid and thereof and of every part thereof doth acquit and Discharge Andrew Tannehill his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns and hath given granted ^Aliened^ Bargained Sold and Confirmed and by these Presents doth fully Justly and Absolutely Bargain Sell and Confirm unto the said Andrew Tannehill All that Parcel of Land called S.t Peters Run it being the last Bounded Tree of a Tract of Land called Downham formerly Surveyed for Edward Clark now in the Possession of John Ford and Running thence East Ninety four Perches to a Bounded Oak being also a Bound Tree of the afs.d Tract of Land thence North West Eight Perches to a Bounded White Oak thence South West to the afs.d S.t Peters Run and with the said Run to the first Bound Tree Containing forty seven Acres be it more or less and that Parcell of Land called Pomfret being part of a Tract of Land of the same Name lying Adjoining to the afs.d Tract of Land Beginning at a Bound Tree standing by the afs.d S.t Peters Run and where the afs.d Parcel of Land Ends and Running thence North East Eighty Perches to a Bounded White Oak being a Bound Tree of the afs.d Parcel of Land thence South East Eighty Perches to another Bounded Oak a Bound Tree of the afs.d Parcel of Land and (of) |
