187) thereunto in such manner as that in Case of Death or that he shall be legally Dismissed from Officiating longer in the said Office he the said Edmund Jenings his Executors or Administrators shall Surrender and Deliver up or cause to be Surrendered and Delivered up to the next Person who shall succeed him in the said Secretarys Office all the Papers and Record Books now being in the said Provincial Office in good order and Repair as also all such other Papers and Record Books which shall be by him added in like good order and Repair with the Records and Entries faithfully legally and truly made up and entred during the time he hath Officiated in the said Secretarys Office without Favor or Affection but according to the Truth the Nature of thing and the Duty of his Office and all other the Duties of his said Office legally duly and faithfully shall discharge according to Law and the True Intent and meaning of the Act of Assembly in such Cases made and provided that then the above Obligation to be Void and of none Effect or also to be and remain in full force and Virtue in Law Signed Sealed & Delivered Edm Jenings Seal In the Presence of John Darnall J Ross Seal Thomas Johnson Jun.r Jn.o Brice Seal On the back of the aforegoing Bond was thus Endorsed Viz.t Oct.r 4.th 1751 Then Came John Darnall and Thomas Johnson Jun.r the Subscribing Witnesses to the within Bond and made Oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God before Us two of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court that they saw the within Bound Edmund Jenings John Ross and John Brice Esq.r Execute the within Bond Robert Gordon Geo Steuart You are hereby required immediately to enter the within Bond with the Endorsement thereon in the Provincial Land Records Pursuant to the directions of the Act of Assembly in that Case made and provided To M.r Richard Burdus Robert Gordon Clerk of the Provincial Court Geo Steuart Oct.r 4.th 1751 6 Recorded Oct.r 4.th 1751 Ex.d Maryland fs.t Know all Men by these Presents That We Edmund Jenings of the City of Annapolis Esq.r John Ross of the City of Annapolis Esq.r and John Brice of the City of Annapolis Esquire are held and firmly Bound unto the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary of this Province of Maryland in the full and just Sum of One Thousand Pounds Current Money to be paid to the said Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary ^and^ his successors to which Payment well and truly to be made We and every of Us hereby Bind Ourselves and every of Us our and every of Our Heirs Executors and Adm.rs Jointly and Severally firmly by these Presents Sealed with out Seals and dated this third day of October 1751 The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above Bounded (Edmund) |
