177) said William Lux or his Substitutes shall Lawfully do or cause to be done in or about the Premisses by Virtue of these Presents Thus done and Passed in London aforesaid in the Presence of the Under written Witnesses Sealed and Delivered (being first Jon.a Forward Seal duly stampt) in the Presence of Joseph Richardson Lucas Everard Greenhead In Preemissorum fidem Seal Will Tudman Not.s Pub.s 1751 Maryland Baltimore County fs.t July 24.th 1751 Came Joseph Richardson and Lucas Everard Greenhead the two Subscribing Evidences to the above Power of Attorney and made Oath on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God that they saw the within named Jonathan Forward Sign Seal and Deliver the within Instrument of Writing as his Act and Deed Sworn to before Us the Subscribers two of his Lordships Justices of the County aforesaid Recorded Sept.r 14.th 1751 Lyde Goodwin 6 Ridgely Ex.d Maryland fs.t Charles Absolute Lord and Proprietary of the Provinces of Maryland and Avalon Lord baton of Baltimore &c To all our Bailiffs and good People to whom these Sam Ogle Presents shall come Greeting Whereas John Conner of Ann Arundel County Labourer the Servant of a certain Philip Warfield of the said County is detained in our Gaol at the City of Annapolis for certain Crimes by him Committed Now Know Ye that for divers Causes and Considerations Us thereunto moving We have Pardoned and We do by these Presents Pardon release and remit unto him the said John Conner all Pains Penalties and Forfeitures which by Law he may be liable or subject to for or by Reason of the said Crimes And We do also Grant unto him the said John Conner our firm Peace and will not that he suffer any Corporal Punishment therefore But that he shall stand and be in the same Plight State and Condition to all Intents and Purposes as if the said Crimes had by him never been done or Committed Witness our Trusty and Well beloved Samuel Ogle Esq.r Governor and Commander in Cheif in and over our said Province this 12.th day of September in the 37.th Year of our Dominion Annoque Domini 1751 The Great Seal Recorded Sept.r 14.th 1751 in Wax J Ross Cl Com 2 Appendant Ex.d This Indenture made the sixth day of September in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and fifty one Between William Wintersell of Talbot County Planter of the one part and Arthur Rigbie of Talbot County of the other part Witnesseth that the said William for and in Consideration of five Shillings Sterling to him in hand paid at the Sealing and Delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge and of every part and parcel thereof doth Acquit and Discharge the said Arthur his Heirs Executors (and) |
