158) ought to have and enjoy the same by force and Virtue of the said Indenture of Mortgage any thing therein mentioned or expressed or otherwise howsoever In Witness whereof the said Thomas Barkley hath hereunto set his hand and Seal the day and Year first above written Sealed and Delivered Thomas Barkley Seal in the Presence of B Hands Cha.s Scott On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed Viz.t February the 18.th 1750 Then Received of the within named Thomas Williamson the Sum of five Shillings Current Money the Consideration Money within mentioned Witness P Thomas Barkley B Hands Cha.s Scott Kent County fs.t 1.st May 1751 Then came the within named Thomas Barkley before Us the Subscribers two of his Lordships Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid and Acknowledged the within Deed to be his Act and Deed to and for the Use of the within Names Thomas Williamson his Heirs and Assigns according to the directions of the Act of Assembly in that Case made and provided Acknowledged before Us the day and Year aforesaid 11 sides Recorded August 3.d 1751 B.d Hands Cha.s Scott Ex.d This Indenture made between Charles Carroll of the City of Annapolis Merchant on the one part and Thomas Bently of Frederick County Planter on the other part Witnesseth that the said Charles Carroll for and in Consideration of the Sum of Twenty Seven Pounds Ten Shillings Current Money of Maryland to him in hand paid by the said Thomas Bently Hath Bargained Sold Aliened and Confirmed and by these Presents Doth Bargain Sell Alien and Confirm unto him the said Thomas Bently all that part of a Tract of Land called Carolina Scituate and being in Frederick County to Contain One hundred and eight Acres and no more that is to say Beginning at the Beginning of the Original Tract and runs thence South thirty Degrees West eighty Perches thence North eighty one Degrees West One hundred and Twenty two Perches South eight Per.s South eighty one Deg.s East One hundred and twenty eight Per.s South Sixty two Deg.s East Fifty Perc.s East forty eight Per.s North twenty five Deg.s West Ninety Per.s North thirty five Deg.s East sixty four Per.s North fifteen Deg.s East thirty two Per.s North sixty two Deg.s East sixteen Per.s North fifty five Deg.s East Eighty three Per.s North Forty nine Deg.s West eighty Per.s South thirty eight Deg.s West twelve Per.s North Sixty Deg.s West eighteen Per.s South sixty Deg.s West ten Per.s thence With a Streight line to the beginning Containing One hundred and eight Acres of Land together with the improvements & Appurtenances thereon and thereto belonging To have and to hold unto him the said Thomas Bently his Heirs and Assigns for ever the said One hundred and eight Acres of Land being part of a Tract of Land called Carolina Containing two hundred & eight Acres taken up by the said Carroll together with all & singular the Improvements & Appurtenances on the said One hundred and eight Acres of Land or thereto belonging or Appertaining and the said Charles Carroll doth Covenant & Agree to and with ^him^ the said Thomas Bently that he the said Thomas Bently and his Heirs and Assigns for ever the said One hundred and eight Acres of Land with its Appurtenances shall and may have hold and Enjoy as well against (him) |
