       meaning of the within Deed acknowledged before me the Day &
       Year above Written                              John Darnall

       Reced of the within Named Thomas, Richard, and Bennett
       Darnall the Sum of Three Pounds Sterling for his Lordships
       use (it being the Alienation fine on the within mentioned
       Fifteen hundred Acres of Land) by Virtue of a Commission
       from Benj.a Tasker Esquire his said Lordships Agent &
5 1/2 Receiver General                  Rich.d Dorsey
       Recorded ^17.th^ March 1748/9


Ex.d This Indenture made the twenty first Day of October
       in the thirty fourth Year of the Dominion of the Right Honourable
       Charles Absolute Lord and Proprietor of the Province of
       Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltimore and in the
       Year of our Lord God One Thousand seven hundred and forty
       Eight Between Thomas Stoddert of Prince Georges
       County in the Province of Maryland Gentleman of the One
       Part and Thomas Marshall of the said County and
       Province Gentleman on the Behalf and out of the
       Natural Love and Affection which he hath for his Daughter
       Mary Maccubbin Now the Wife of Zachariah
       Maccubbin of Ann Arundel County Gentleman on the other Part
       Witnesseth that the said Thomas Stoddert for and in Consideration
       of the Sum of One hundred and Eighty four Pounds fourteen
       Shillings Sterling Money to him in hand paid or Secured
       to be Paid by the said Thomas Marshall on the Behalf of
       of his Daughter Mary Maccubbin as afs.d at or before the
       Sealing and Delivery of these Presents and for divers
       other causes and Consideration him thereunto moving Hath
       Given Granted Bargained Sold Aliened Enfeoffed and Confirmed
