Ex.d      This Indenture made the Eighth Day of February in the year
       of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & forty four Between Tho.s
       Harper of the Parish of Saint Catherine Abb Church London Surveyor
       and Cecilia his Wife who was formerly Cecilia Andrews
       Elianor Horton of the Parish af.d Widdow and Sarah Caulton
       of the Parish of Saint James's Westminster in the County of
       Middlesex Widow Sister's & Coheir's of the Lands of John Anduce
       late of Ann arundel County in the Province of Maryland deced
       of the one part and W.m Thornton of Annarundel County in the
       Province of Maryland Merchant of the other part Whereas
       the said Thomas Harper Cecilia his Wife Elianor Horton &
       Sarah Caulton in the Capacitys as af.d by their Procuration or
       Letter of Attorney bearing Date at London the twenty second
       Day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven  
       hundred & forty three Constitute and appoint Captain John Hunter
       then present in London but bound our on a Voyage to Maryland
       their true and lawfull Attorney and amongst other [illegible]
       and authorities therein mentioned Impowered the said Jn.o Hunter
       to grant bargain Sell assign Transfer Alien Release Enfeoff &
       set over by all lawfull ways & means whatsoever all or any of
       the Lands Tenements & Plantations Stock Slaves Negroes good
       Chattels Estate and Effects whatsoever belonging or of right
       appurtaining to them the Said Constituants to any person or
       Persons whatsoever and to and for the most & best Prices
       & ^advantages^ their Said Attorney Could get or procure for the same & to
       that end to make Sign Seal duly Execute all Such ^Acts^ Deeds
                      writings Conveyances & assurances in the law as
       Should be required & necessary for the more effectual &
       assigning & Conveying the same and to appear at any Court
       or Courts in the Province of Maryland af.d & in the name of
       them the Said Constituants in the Quality af.d any Deed
       or Deeds so made signed sealed & Executed & Delivered as af.d
       to acknowledge & to receive & to take the consideration money
       & Purchase for the same as by the said Procuration or Letter
       of Attorney Duly Executed  proved & recorded in the Secretarys
       Office of Maryland relation being thereunto had may
       more fully & at large appear And Whereas the said John Hunter
