492) Baltimore being for the Alienation fine of the within Land Recorded March the 22.d 1743 Benj.a Tasker 11 1/2 Ex.d Elliott Benger Esq.r Sole Deputy Postmaster General of all his Majesty's Dominions in America To All to whom these Presents shall Come Greeting Seal Know Ye that I, the said Elliott Benger reposing great Trust and Confidence in the knowledge Care and Ability of Jonas Green Gent to Execute the Office and Duties required of a Deputy Post Master, and having received good Testimony of his Fidelity and Loyalty to his Majesty have, (by Virtue of the Authority and Power to me Delegated from his Majesty's Postmaster General) Deputed, Constituted, Authorized and appointed; and by these Presents do depute Constitute Authorize and appoint the said Jonas Green to be my lawfull and sufficient Deputy to Execute the Office of Deputy Postmaster of Annapolis in the Province of Maryland To Have hold use Exercise and Enjoy the said Office with all and every the Rights Priviledges Benefits and Advantages to the same belonging, for so long as I shall Judge it for his Majesty's service to Continue him therein; and under such Conditions Covenants Provisoes payments orders and Instructions to be faithfully observed performed and done by the said Deputy and servants as he or they shall from time to time receive from me In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Caused the seal of my Office to be affixed this fourth Day of February 1743/4 in the Seventeenth Year of his Majestys Reign 2 1/2 Recorded March the 22.d 1743 Elliott Benger |
