40) On the Back of the foregoing Deed is thus Endorst Viz.t April y.e 20.th Seventeen hundred & thirty Eight Came Thomas Worthington before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court of Maryland & Acknowledged the w.thin Deed & the Land & Premisses there mentioned to be the Right of the w.thin Named Basill Dorsey his heirs & Assigns According to the true Intent & meaning of the Said Deed And Act of Assembly in Such Cases & Provided Robert Gordon Reced May the 13.th 1738 of M.r Basil Dorsey the Sum of two Shillings Sterling for his L.dships use (Being the Alienation fine on the within mentioned Land Supposing the Same to Contain but fifty Acres) By Virtue of A Commission from Benjamin Tasker Esq.r his Lordships Agent & receiver Gen.l Recorded May y.e 22.d 1738 P Rich.d Dorsey 6 sides x.d This Indenture made the twenty fifth Day of February Anno Domini one thousand Seven hundred & thirty Seven Between Richard Snowden of Ann Arundell County in the Province of Maryland Iron Master of the one Part & Joseph Lazeer Sen.r of Prince Georges Planter of the Other Part Witnesseth that the said Richard Snowden for & in Consideration of the Sum of Twenty Pounds Sterling money of Great Brittain to him in hand paid by the Said Joseph Lazeer Sen.r at & before the Ensealing & Delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof he the Said Richard Snowden Doth hereby Acknowledge himself therewith to be fully Satisfied Contented & Paid & thereof & of Every Part & Parcell thereof Doth Acquit Exonerate & Discharge the Said Joseph Lazeer his heirs Ex.rs Adm.rs & Assigns & Every of them for Ever by these Presents Hath Given Granted Bargained Sold Assigned Aliened Enfeoffed (Transferred) |
