398 Ex.d This Indenture Quadripartite made this fourth Day of April Anno Dom seventeen hundred forty and three Between Moses Driskill of Somersett County in the Province of Maryland sadler and Catherine his Wife Daughter of William Elget late of the said County Planter deceased of the first Part William Driskill eldest son of the said Moses Driskill & Katherine his Wife of the second Part James Johnson of the City of Annapolis Merchant of the third Part and William Murray of Somerset County af.d of the fourth part Witnesseth That the said Moses Driskill and Catherine his Wife and the said William Driskill for and in Consideration of five Shillings Current Money of Maryland to them and each of them paid by the same James Johnson at and before the Ensealing & Delivery hereof the Receipt whereof they and each of them hereby ^severally^ do acknowledge and for the further and better assuring the Lands Tenements and Hereditaments with the Appurtenances herein after more particularly mentioned and expressed unto the said William Murray his Heirs and Assigns for ever Have bargained and sold and by these Presents each of them doth bargain and sell unto the said James Johnson and his Heirs for ever all that Parcel of Land lying near Cottingham Creek & Wiccomoco River in Somerset County af.d which the said William Elget by Deed bearing Date or or before the first Day of August Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and thirty seven convey'd as Part of one Tract of Land called Munely and of one other Tract of Land called Avery's Policy for one hundred and fifty Acres more or less unto the said Katherine the Wife of the said Moses and the Heirs of her Body lawfully begotten for ever To have and to hold the said Lands and Appurtenances unto the said James Johnson his Heirs and Assigns for ever to the Use of the said James Johnson his Heirs and Assigns for ever to the Intent and Purpose That by Virtue hereof the said James Johnson may become and be a good and perfect Tenant of the immediate Freehold and Inheritance of all and singular the said bargained Premisses against whom one or more [illegible] (Recovery) |
